10 Reasons why November is great

1. Bonfire Night, my second favourite celebration of the year! Who doesn't love pretty fireworks, a toasty warm bonfire, and endless amounts of food? Also being able to spend time with your family, it's a great excuse to bring everyone together and enjoy yourself!

2. After Bonfire night is over, there's nothing else to look forward to (apart from birthdays maybe), so what's next? With Christmas upon the horizon it's totally acceptable to start celebrations early! Well at least I think it is! Christmas is over before it really even starts so if you start getting into the Christmas spirit early you've got loads of time to enjoy being festive!

3. It gets dark so much earlier now, which can be a burden for us bloggers, I mean have you tried squeezing in taking photos before the sun sets? It's hard work and 50% of the time it's too dim and nothing seems to come out how we want it. However it does make the season feel much more cosier, being able to come back from a long busy day and sipping on your favourite drink with your best candles lit when only half 5 is the best.

4. Movember! Some sexy men are going to be growing out some even sexier moustaches and all for a great cause too!  Moustaches can transform people, for better and for worse and it's a lot of fun to watch.

5. World kindness day is in November!! I've got a lot of big plans for it this year, and I really wished it was more recognised because I don't think it's something that many people take into account. There's so many way's people can put their kindness into action, even just donating a small amount to charity it good enough. They'll be a big blog post about the day and how you can do your bit in the forthcoming future so watch this space.

6. It's still Autumn, aka the best season ever, so there's still time to rock your autumnal outfits and not have to wrap up too warm until the chilling winter reaches us. You still have time to tick off the activities from your Autumn  Bucket lists so don't fret!

7. Costa start using their cute cute Christmas cups this year and release their Christmas drinks! Their Christmas hot chocolates are TO DIE FOR,  and the cups just make it so much better! (unpopular opinion: I think they're better than the Starbucks cups to be honest *gasp*) Think of all the great Instagram opportunities though!! Relish it boo.

8. Mocking Jay Part 2. I am not ready, I am not worthy, I don't know how I will cope. I'll probably being a sobbing mess throughout, but I'll have to deal with it. I'm so freaking excited.

9. Garden centres are bliss this time of year! Christmas decoration will be out and if you're like me you'll be spending hours looking at all the different baubles, wreaths, and adorable winter villages. My goal in life is to become rich so I can create a room for my own winter village like this couple, they are who I want to become in life.

10. Christmas markets open. I know this whole post is Christmas but I couldn't care less, Christmas markets are the best! In Birmingham they do German Markets through the streets, the whole place is completely transformed and the smell is something of a dream! Carousels,  a massive Christmas tree, homemade candy canes, German sausages, fruit dipped in melted chocolate, it's like a beautiful holiday haven.

I'm in the most festive spirit and I'm LOVING IT!
What's your favourite part of November?

This is why I'm not a fashion blogger

Just look at me, look how hopeless I am. I feel sorry for myself now, for thinking that these jeans with those shoes look okay. I'm actually a laughing stock, and I don't care because looking at myself now I want to burst into laughter myself! Ahhh, how I'm glad I'm a lifestyle blogger, I don't think I was ever meant to go down the line of fashion that's for sure! For all I know, I could look fabulous, but in my eyes it's plain to see that I'm a little old mess who should stay in my bedroom in the comfort of my baggy Primark pyjama bottoms and dirty over sized shirts. But I tell you one thing that this has taught me, it's taught me that I'm doing the best thing that's right for me, and that I'm not trying to be something I'm not. Yes I may have tried to take a photo so I could do a cute little fashion post, but it just turns out I'm not cut out for that. My niche is lifestyle, and I cant try and force myself to be someone I'm not. If you're a blogger whose thinking of venturing out into a different niche, like fashion, lifestyle, beauty etc. I'd say go for it! But don't do something that isn't about who you are or what you enjoy. I love the beauty of makeup and how I can transform my face in different ways, but I could never be a beauty blogger because it's not something I'm absolutely passionate about. I'm following the path that leads to my happiness and so should you! I don't even know where I'm going with this anymore and I've rambled enough. Just be yourself I guess is what I'm trying to say. Any whom, I'll post the other two pictures for you to see, I mean they're not terrible, but fashion blogging is not for me (:

Thanks to my friend Sophie for taking the photos though, your photo skills are fabulous, where as I am not. You can follow Soph on Instagram here.

What's your blogging niche and why did you choose it?

My Memories Of Halloween

I've been thinking recently, about how much I loved Halloween as a kid. Carving pumpkins, spending the day getting exited, getting mum to paint my face, getting sick after eating sweets, you know, the usual things. It makes me sad that I will never be as excited as I was then. Don't get me wrong, I still love Halloween! But it's just not the same is it? I can't do the things I once did as a child, like eat tonnes of sweets without caring about the calories and sugar intake! I can't go knocking around the street exclaiming "TRICK OR TREAT!", instead I need to supervise my little sister, remind her to say thank you, and kindly decline any sweets offered my way (because its the polite thing to do and the kids will cherish them more than me... right?). Because of this, I've decided to take a trip down memory lane, and share some of stories of Halloween.

Let's start on my most sad Halloween shall we? I was about 6 or 7, and very very excited for Halloween. I decided I was going to be a witch, as per usual, and was counting down the hours till we'd venture out into the streets and collect our sweets! (Haribo packets for the win am I right?) Anyways, I was patiently sitting in the lounge when suddenly my ears started ringing and I had terrible pain in both my ears and my head. Even though it hurt a lot, I was adamant to still go trick or treating, bc sweets. Despite my determination to fight the pain, dear old mum decided for my own good that I "shouldn't go out this Halloween and stay inside". I tell you right now, my heart shattered. I obliged, and sat at my front window, peering over my sofa, as I saw all my friends from school wander the streets in their cool costumes, laughing and having fun, while I was in pain and was forced to give away all the sweets to the dressed up children. Not fair.

Skip ahead a few years of being witches and maybe the odd vampire later, and I we come to these horrific tale. My friends and I were trick or treating in the pouring rain dressed up in netted neon skirts, vests, massive rain coats, some funky leg warmers, and very dramatic makeup smearing our faces. However, it wasn't the fact that it was raining that made us so upset, or that every house that we went to asked us who we were supposed to be either! (I mean come on, we were  obviously emo fairies) It was more of the fact that we decided to walk down a dark alley with a torches like the rebels we were, until A STUPID IDIOT SCREAMED AND JUMPED OUT AT US WITH HIS STUPID BARKING DOG AND HIS STUPID FREAKY MASK AND SCARE THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT OF US! It was so not okay, and it makes me angry every time.

So while we're at it, I might as well tell you about last Halloween! I went to my first ever Halloween party ever last year (HOORAH!), but I kind of didn't know what to wear so went with the easy option of being Wednesday Adams. I wore a top with a peter pan collar underneath, a black dress with teeny flowers, and had my hair in two plaits just like she does, so I thought I really looked the part! Until I got there and realized that 90% of the people there had never watched it so I was left looking like a fool (uncultured swines). So I went back home to switch my makeup up a bit, to up looking like a dead maid or whatever. Spooky. Also, I forgot to mention that I went to this party with my family, and I was put in charge of the children. So while my parents where having fun dancing and getting intoxicated, I was organinsing games of hide and seek, as well as wrapping kids in toilet roll to become mummies. I did get a tenner out of it though, so I guess it was worth it. I guess.

What's one of your favourite memories of Halloween?

Two Favourites Tuesday #2

Hello again my friends! It's Tuesday again, meaning that it's time to share two things I've been loving this past week!

My first favourite is this Aveeno "moisturising creamy oil". Wants to cold weather reaches my skin, my face goes on red alert (literally), leaving me with horribly dry, flaky skin. So last week when this exactly happened and I was scared to even leave the house, I noticed that ran out of my usual Aveeno moisturiser, so while I was a sobbing mess, thinking that I looked like Frankenstein's monster, mum picked this gem up. I urge you to feel my face right now, its so so soft, and not greasy at all, your skin just absorbs it all up and lets you reap the benefits. If you suffer with dry, flaky skin now it's getting colder, I really recommend this cream, it was my lifesaver.

My next favourite is a band that I've been listening to for a few months now and have come to adore. They're called Cattle & Cane,  a pop/folk/acoustic group made up of 4 siblings and their friend. (as you can tell I'm too great at describing musical shenanigans). Anyway, there music is so calming, relaxing, and really puts me in an autumnal mood. I usually listen to them when I'm sat scrolling through social media, catching up on blogs, and while I'm trying to sleep. Make sure to stay tuned for my next post if you care for all things music, as I'll be sharing my Autumn play list!

2 Favourites Tuesday #1

Everybody loves a good monthly favourites. Being able to poke your nose into other peoples business, seeing what people loved, as well as being flooded with cravings to spend. Instead of following the crowd and doing a monthly favourites, I decided to share with you two things I've loved from my week, whether that be a beauty product, clothing item, memory or even a bag of sweets that I bought down the co-op. Hopefully this will help for you to get to know me better and for my opinions to be as fresh a possible!
So welcome to "2 Favourites Tuesday"!

1. My first favourite has to be my Naked palette. I bought this in May, and I realise that I'm a bit late on the bandwagon, but I only ever used to shy away and play it safe. I mostly ever used the two matte tones, Sin, and Side Car. However recently in the past week I've started to up my game and exploring a bit more, braving the golden colours now that it's Autumn and that's what all the beauty guru's are doing so I've got to trust them right? I feel they really complement my eyes and I'm ready to step away from the boringness.

2. My second favourite has been liquid eyeliner. The one I use is from Avon, and it's not the greatest, but it's not exactly the product I'm in love with, but it's the way that a winged liquid eyeliner can transform your face and make it look ten times better. Just me? I don't know, but I've been using it a lot more recently and I love it! Although, I would really appreciate some recommendations on the best liquid eyeliners because my current one is slowly dying on me. Help!

Easy ways to warm up your living space for autumn.

It's September and that means one thing. Autumn. One of my favourite things about Autumn is decorating my room, transitioning from bright, sunny colours, to burnt oranges, dark greens, and browns in the Autumn. Today I  finally felt it was time to warm up my living space in time for the falling leaves. (I'm still waiting)

Here are  three easy ways to make your living space feel autumn ready!

1. Autumn collages
First off, I went on to Pinterest and found a load of cute autumnal pictures, focusing on ones that contained really warm colours and nice quotes. I then found a frame that I had filled with a load of tropical/beach pictures that I had on display throughout summer. To replace the old pictures I printed out my favourite autumnal pictures from Pinterest, cut them out, and placed them inside the photo frame to make my own autumn collage! I think once placed on my window sill, straight away my rooms felt a lot more warm and season ready. You can find cheap frames in charity shops, and even Poundland!

2. Autumn plants
The other day my little sister went for a walk and decided to collect a bunch of pine cones, which was great for me because she let me use them for my room. I think pine cones are so beautiful, I mean they may not seem like much, but I just love them and their autumnal vibes. (drinking game, drink a shot every time I use the word autumnal or autumn in this post) So I placed them strategically around my room, then bam, already ten times better. I also found these twigs in the conservatory that have some sort of orange berries on them, so I nicked those and placed them in my room too! I think we got ours in our local garden centre. Super cute, super autumnal, much love.

3. Lighting
Last but not least, lighting, I'm talking about fairy lights and candles. It's so important!!  If you have these two things in your room, then you're doing something right. Right now I'm crushing on some acorn fairy lights that I found in TK Maxx, which I SO regret not picking up because they were absolutely adorable and I can't find them anywhere online. Oh well, candles will always do. *sulks*

Before:

After:

So there you go!! If I was going full throttle I'd buy a nice throw, and scout out a squash or some pumpkins in the supermarket, but for some reason today is incredibly sunny and I don't like it, it's hurting my eyes.

Have you started decking out your bedroom or house for Autumn yet?

A blessing from the skirt gods.

The best thing happened the other day. A blessing. Mum went up in the loft to fetch my old school clothes for my little sister, then passed me over a skirt she found up there from when I was ickle. When I looked at it, I swear my jaw dropped. You know those denim skirts that're all the rage right now?  Yeah well, I reaaaaallllly wanted one. However, I didn't think they'd look good on my wide hips or suit my body shape at all. The struggle. So when my mum brought THIS baby down:

I ALMOST FLIPPED! I loved it so much, but I was absolutely sure it wouldn't fit! When I had this skirt when I was younger, I hated it and thought it was the most ugliest thing. Despite this, once they were in my hands, I was in love and jokingly tried it on, expecting the worst. But the worst didn't happen, and surprisingly, IT FIT! I have no clue how because I'm like 5ft 8, and even though its a teeny bit short due to my long legs (but opaque black tights do the trick), it fits like a glove and suits my figure perfectly.(must be some type of voodoo magic.) I've been all heart eyed emoji over it since. Thank you skirt gods for your gift, thank you.

How do you feel about the denim skirt trend? Will you be rocking it this Autumn?

My "New Year" School Resolutions.

This time next week, school will have started up again. Early mornings, homework, revision, all the things in this world that I love the most! Not. I am the most unorganised person and it's shameful how lazy I am to get work done. I envy people who seem to have their life all together. You know, the ones who revise everyday, get homework done the day they get it, while managing to fit in exercise and extra curricular activities? These people actually exist believe it or not! However I am not one of them, as much as I'd like to be. So I'm challenging myself to some "new year" resolutions now that my last school year has started. It's time to really make it count.

My first resolution is to do my homework as soon as I get home. By that I mean as soon as I walk through my front door. This way I will be motivated to get it out of the way so I can spend the rest of my evening stress free. This will result in me not panicking the night before about that massive maths sheet I should've completed days ago, which will be fab because I might actually get the amount of sleep I need!

My second resolution is to go to bed early. There have been many occasions where I told myself I'd get off my phone at a certain time, then realise hours later it's one in the morning and I need to be up in five hours. But I'm going to be the responsible one now! I will put away my phone at least half an hour before the time I want to go to bed, and I will not be distracted by Netflix!! Who's with me?? (I realise the answer is no one, but we can at least try right?)

This next resolution is one I know I can do. It's to use my daily planner that I bought  from WHSmith. (Shown in the picture above.) At my high school, they hand out these ugly school planners that after the first week of term end up lost, soaked from the rain, or shredded to pieces. So with this one, I shall look after it as if it was my own child and pretend I'm as super organised as it will make me look. I will write in all my homework, revision sessions and anything else I might need to jot down and remember. Ooh look at me and my sleek little planner, pretending that I know what I'm doing with my life. Ha, I'll fool them.

My final resolution is to work as hard as I can. To revise whenever I get the chance. This year is going to be so bloody stressful, but in the end, if I try my best and achieve the grades that I'm hoping for, all the stress will be worth it. At least that's what I've been told. I'll squeeze in bits of fun along the way, but this year will be my year. I'm gonna smash it.

If you're going back to school what're your "new year" resolutions? If not, any advice on tackling my last year of school?
Much love,

My autumn wishlist 2015

Today's the first day of September!! How exciting!!! Even though Autumn doesn't officially start till September 23rd Astronomically, it already feels like Autumn here in England and it makes me feel gooey and happy inside. There are many many many things this season that I would love to buy and cradle against my body. But unfortunately as the saying goes, money does not grow on trees. Never the less I managed (just about) to wriggle it down to my top 6 pieces that I crave to have in my wardrobe this Autumn.

1. Turtleneck jumper- £22.00
Turtlenecks and I get along like a house on fire. There's just something about them that makes me love the way they look on me. I always feel better about myself when I'm rocking a turtleneck and I find the fit and colour of this one beautiful. They would also match my new loafers, which I consider a big bonus.Give me all the turtlenecks!!

2. Denim pinafore- £30.00
When I was younger I used to have a pretty little denim pinafore. I thought I was the bomb diggity. But then as I grew up, although it still fit me, I found it ugly and repulsive so I never wore it again. Here I am years later gawping over a pinafore from ASOS and wishing I had it in my life. I'm sorry for betraying you old pinafore, you were beautiful really! :'(

3. Baseball tee- £19.00
I freaking LOVE baseball tees! The simplicity of them and how casual they look is my reason for loving them so much. They can go with just about anything, but isn't just your bog standard plain t'shirt. I'm especially feeling  the colour of this one, because of the autumnal vibe to it. Gimme.

4. Plaid flannel- £30.00
It's a necessity for me to have something over sized that you can throw over an yourself when it's not that warm to pull an outfit together. Flannels do the job perfectly, and this one is beautiful. Oh how I wish it was mine.

5. Buckled Boots- £25.00
These boots are so autumnal I want to scream!! And look at the price tag! I thinks boots at that price are so affordable, and during Autumn/Winter I don't think I'd have them off my feet. One think that satisfies me the most about boots are the clonk noises they make as you walk. Clonk clonk clonk. I want these boots for fashion purposes as well as clonk purposes.

6. Yellow Parka- £150.00
I left this one till last, not just because it is my favorite, but due to the scarily large price tag. And that's £60 already off the original price. Scary I know. I already have a parka but I've grown to hate it. Why? Because it's green and everyone has one. But this one however, I have not seen being worn by every person who lives. This excites me. If only I had a spare £150 that I could splash out on. Maybe one day.

That's all folks! Which piece was you favourite and what're you wishing for this Autumn?
Much love,

What is Autumn?

Autumn. Since I've come back from holiday, it is the one topic that is always seems to be on my mind, every minute of the day. The thought of it being just round the corner gives me so much thrill and excitement, that I just want to run about with my arms above my head, screaming that the season is almost  here. But why? Why is Autumn so special? What even is Autumn? The correct answer  would be a season right? Well that's wrong. Autumn is more than just a season my friend. Autumn is the following:

Autumn is that great feeling you get from wearing your favourite jumper.

Autumn it when it starts getting dark earlier.

Autumn is when the leaves transition from bright greens green, to dark reds, burnt oranges, and mustard yellows.

Autumn is when you light your favourite scented candles and the room suddenly feels ten times cosier.

Autumn is the crunch of leaves underneath your shoes as you walk.

Autumn is drinking your favourite hot drinks and feeling the warmth in your belly.

Autumn is carving into pumpkins before Halloween.

Autumn is watching fireworks from your bedroom window.

Autumn is wearing your favourite pair of socks to keep your feet warm.

Autumn is snuggling up with blankets while you watch television or read a book.

Autumn is the scent of pumpkins, cooked apples, cinnamon and caramel.

Autumn is your favourite pair of boots that you live in day after day.

Autumn is long walks in the crispy cold air.

Autumn is Guy Fawkes night, standing round a toasty bonfire and waiting for the fireworks.

Autumn is drawing love hearts in the air with sparklers.

Autumn is walking into a home that hugs you in warmth and smells of cooking after being out in the cold.

Autumn is that brisk breeze blowing against your body and through your hair

Autumn is time for love, family, friends and good  memories.

That is Autumn to me.

What is Autumn to you?

Much love,
