What's inside my inside my memory box?

A couple of days ago I was sat bored in my room, when I felt a sudden urge to sort out and organise my draws. Over the years I have collected a whole bunch of clutter and unnecessary items, which I didn't know what to do with. So me being me would just shove it in my draws to forget about it. This has been going on for as long as I can remember, so the attempted to empty my draws. However my attempt at emptying my draws turned out to be futile, due to my utter distraction after finding piles and piles of nostalgic items. I probably spent an hour sitting on my bedroom floor feeling all gooey inside from the feels. I knew I wanted to keep these items all together in one place, so found an old shoe box to collect them all in. So this is how my memory box came to existence, and this is what's inside:

  • 3 concert tickets, from seeing Take That, One Direction, and 5 Seconds of Summer.
  • Two loom band figures; a marshmallow and a pear.
  • A "Pop Party" CD. (I just popped it into my laptop and am listening to it now. I'm half loving it, half cringing.)
  • 3 hand written letters. One from my boyfriend, one from my old best friend while I was on holiday in Egypt, and one from my Au-Pair. I love these, they're probably my favourite things from the box and tear me up every time.
  • 3 journals from a catholic summer camp that I attend, from 2013, 2014 and 2015. The reason I love these so much is because each person in your "small group" will write a message about you, saying what they like about you and anything else they want to add. It's great for a good confidence boost, especially since they're all so nice and warmhearted, so it helps you focus on your positives rather than any negatives. This is one of my favourites too.
  • A disc that has a video of me and my friend singing and dancing to a song by Jessie J from 2012.
  • My favourite Christmas and birthday cards.
  • Jewelry from when I was little.
  • A good luck cat from my Nan.
  • Loads and loads and loads of cringey photos.
  • My diary from when I was twelve years old. My handwriting back then was disgraceful, and I thought I was much cooler than I really was. Lets not talk about my twelve year old self again shall we?
  • A pebble that my friend got from the tooth fairy.
  • My table name card from my Aunt's and Uncle's wedding, a long with the poem I read during their ceremony.
  • A card with details of where we stayed on our trip to France in year seven.
  • Half of a best friend necklace.

So that is everything that was in my memory box, and it was a delight to share it with you. If you don't already have a memory box, I really really recommend making one. It's not just good for keeping all your memories and keepsakes together, it's great to look through when you're feeling down and need a good pick me up.

Have you got a memory box? What's your most fond memory?

Lots of love,

  3. What's up my fellow Take That fan? ;)
Memory boxes are such cute keepsakes, I have one full of lots of my Grandpa's favourite items. My box full of concert tickets and special notes has turned into more of a drawer, but still lovely nonetheless! xx

  4. Love this. I have so many little keepsakes like this, too. I have them in different places as I have a folder for cards, a box with little trinkets from my childhood like a little tea cup and diaries, and then I have another box for keepsakes from more recent years. I just love these items and can't imagine letting them go.
